Dear Families,
I want to take a moment to address the recent online threats that have been reported against Alexander and other schools in our area and across the state. We understand how concerning this can be for our community, and I want to assure you that the safety of our students is our top priority.
We are closely collaborating with the Athens County Sheriff's Department to investigate these threats thoroughly. They have determined that there is no credibility to the recent threats, but I want to emphasize that we take all threats seriously. Our district is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all students and staff.
We encourage you to talk to your children about the importance of reporting any suspicious activity or messages they may encounter. Together, we can help ensure a secure and supportive school atmosphere.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership as we navigate these challenges. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
William Hampton
Superintendent
Alexander Local School District

Dear Spartans, I am writing to you this evening to let you know that a family in our community experienced a tragedy today. The impact of this will be felt by many. Out of respect for the family and their privacy, we are not sharing any details. Because we believe wholeheartedly that we are better together, tomorrow we will continue with our regular school schedule. We recognize this will be a difficult day for many. We will have counselors and support staff available to meet and to talk with both students and staff. Our first period teachers will provide students with information on how to receive support if needed. This is a difficult moment for us all. We ask that you keep all our Spartans, community, and especially this family in your thoughts and prayers. I know that you will. Sincerely, William Hampton Superintendent Alexander Local Schools
